Hi, I’m Maisie Weissman—an Emmy-nominated editor and producer with more than 15 years of experience shaping visual stories across film, television, and digital media.
I started out as a music editor, working on films like The Boxer (dir. Jim Sheridan) and Jawbreaker (dir. Darren Stein), and spent several years collaborating with Spike Lee on projects including Get on the Bus and Summer of Sam. I was honored to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for my work on his documentary 4 Little Girls.
Eventually, I shifted into picture editing and producing. Since then, I’ve worked across genres—from documentary and true crime to cooking, travel, and home renovation—with credits on Disney+, HGTV, VH1, A&E, Travel Channel, and more.
I also work as a social media producer and editor, where I develop content strategy, edit short-form and vertical video, and write SEO-driven copy for creators and campaigns. I’ve tracked performance metrics, synthesized sponsor and audience feedback, and helped grow audiences. These roles have sharpened my ability to lead content development that is not only creative and polished, but strategic and goal-oriented.
In addition to editing, I regularly work as a supervising editor and producer. I’ve led editorial and graphic design teams, developed style guides, written scripts, and delivered projects ranging from vertical and social posts for content creators to full-length episodes for cable television. My work has involved everything from producing a shoot inside a state prison to interviews with celebrities like Donnie and Marie Osmond. Across all of these, I focus on clarity, collaboration, and delivering great stories on time and on budget.
I’m based in the Hudson Valley and New York City and work both on-site and remotely from my home edit suite, equipped with Media Composer, Premiere Pro, and After Effects.
I’m excited to bring my skills to new teams and new challenges—please don’t hesitate to get in touch: maisieweissman@gmail.com
